Grindsboro Running

A weekly city run club for runners, walkers, and lovers of coffee.
Thursdays • 6pm • rotating Greensboro cafés

We meet in front of a local shop—Downtown Common Grounds, Chandler’s, and summer favorites like Ozzy’s Ice Cream or Cheesecakes by Alex. From there, we run or walk a loop — you choose your pace and your distance (1–4 miles is the usual rhythm). It’s always paved. Always urban. Always low-pressure. Then, you’re welcome to stay for a treat or peel off into the night. No pressure, no sign-up, just a standing invitation to move through the city in good company.

Is this for “real” runners?

It’s for people who like to move their bodies and drink coffee or eat sweets. That includes racers, joggers, walkers, stroller-pushers, and “I’m just here for the cortado” types.

Why Grindsboro?

Coffee Grinds + Greensboro. But also, because running doesn’t have to be fast. Or competitive. Or lonely. Or beer fueled.

Because some of us are sober. Or soft drinkers. Or just more drawn to a good cappuccino and a quiet sidewalk. Most run clubs begin at breweries — and we wanted something different.

Grindsboro is one small thread in the larger Wyrdstead weave — a little club for people who like to move, and linger, and find sweetness at the end of the run.

We’ll be here. Every Thursday. You’re always invited.

Is it every week?

Yes. Every Thursday at 6pm. Even if I (Ashley) can’t be there, someone will.

Where do you run?

Loops and rambles through Greensboro. Often downtown, mostly paved paths or sidewalks, always local shops. We start outside the shop of the week but the distance is up to you. If you pay for Strava, there are courses.

What should I bring?

  1. Water bottle

  2. Weather-appropriate clothes

  3. Reflective gear if it’s dark

  4. A little curiosity

What about pets?

Most of our cafés aren’t pet-friendly indoors, but many have outdoor seating. You’re welcome to bring your dog if it suits the route, the weather, and the space.
